The caves in the mammoth cavity -national park remain consistently 54* – but the park is still a large ebb and a flow of visitors depends on the season.
Mammoth cave High season Is late for early autumn. In June, July and August, the cave tours are the most busy. During this time of year, it is strongly recommended to book cave tours online in advance. If possible, 3-4 weeks in advance. Weekly day (Monday and Tuesday) are less crowded than Friday to Sunday.
Shoulder times: Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are also employed. The weekends are obviously the most overcrowded and tours must be booked at least 1-2 weeks in advance. When you visit a long weekend, you can expect crowds and sold -out tours.
Low season: December to February are the slowest months in the Mammoth Cave National Park, with January and February the slowest.
