Unusual, functional and only a little sweaty

Let me first tell me: If you drop serious money for the bicycle kit like the Velocio Luxe Labb Short and Velocio Merino Luxe Colorblock Jersey, it feels better as if you are gliding through butter on a cloud of chamois cream. Fortunately, Velocios deliver luxurious laboratory shorts – and some more. I also tested the Velocio Merino Luxe Colorblock jersey, which brought its own mix of classic merino style and function (and a few weld-related reservations).

So both pieces trembled after a few long, bumpy road/gravel rides:

I just say it: the Velocio Luxe Libben shorts are ridiculously comfortable. Maybe the most convenient bibs I’ve ever worn, and that says something when you consider that I have worn Libben from Castelli, Giro, Rapha, Eliel, Sugoi, Champion Systems, Primal, Pearl Izumi and so much more that I just can’t remember them. The Velocios are really magical on the bike from a comfortable point of view.

I don’t know what Velocio brings in the upholstery of the luxurious laborator, but it is a spoiled magic. The Chamois is in the saddle for long days on the next level, especially on rough gravel, where your Boo-Tay usually submits a formal complaint up to the third hour. Add in super -page belts that do not feel like braces from hell, and you have a few bibs that really make you forget that you are wearing them. This is the best compliment that I can think of when describing cycling equipment … it just disappears.

The fit is tight, but flattering -a little on the longer side in the legs and when I climb, which I personally grave because it is sure (read: no strange boosting or muffin top situations). And if they are 6’1 “big, they only work somewhat longer. It is not so long that shorter people would have problems to continue with them, but it is worth mentioning if they want to look a long -legged guy as I am and not like John Mcenroe from the 70s.

The jersey follows with a point that has cut with a point and longer sleeves that are ideal for sun protection and hand over these “serious cyclists”. The cut is tight, but more and more relaxed than a traditional tech material racing jersey. This probably depends more than anything on the mechanical properties of the fabric (merino vs. techy poly/spandex).

The jersey moves effortlessly with them as they spray watts over their friends. This is the nature of Merino. If you are not a fan of excessively compressed racing jersey, the Velocio Merino Luxe Colorblock jersey may be your best friend, as it feels less Tadej Pogacar and more Eddy Merckx.

Function: Almost perfect if you don’t sweat like the Niagara Falls

Functionally, the Velocio Luxe Bib shorts are a solid 9.5 out of 10. They are supportive, breathable, Uber-Compedy and Sport exactly the right amount of compression. But – and that’s a but– If you are a heavy sweater as I am, prepare yourself to look like you have peed yourself, especially in the lighter color that I tested. The lighter colors (I tested your black olive color path that looks more like a dirty brown/olive) show everything. I speak in full descent zones that are not exactly flattering. My advice? Stick to dark colors, unless you try to give a statement about the fluid intake or if you only have “Schweiger”.

You feel durable with solid seams and final details. The pad lacks annoying seams, and the straps are really sublime how they simply disappear and do not pull on their shoulders. The wide stripes of the straps also help to distribute the load a little more comfortably.

The Velocio Merino Luxe Colorblock jersey breathes as good as expected, but yes, it only runs a hair warmer than your standard -Lycra -tech. And I mean a hair warmer – it is anything but a sauna, but on the scay you will notice. And just like the bibs shows that sweat shows by Merino as if they are understanding a wet T-shirt competition. This is not specific to Velocio … All Merino jerseys do this in my experience. If you are a pocket stick (snacks, tools, small mammals), the tail bags stretch a little and can be bouncing annoyingly, since the properties of Merino are not as elastic as technically experienced substances.

This kit is visual Chef of the chef. The Velocio Luxe Bib shorts are super clean – long legs, minimal branding and these beautiful stamped tones, the scream: “I ride gravel and also have a good taste.” Here, too, dark colors are your friend if you sweat more than a normal person.

The Velocio Luxe Merino Colorblock Jersey nails the retro-meets modern mood without being loud. The color blocking is tasteful (yes, this is possible), and there are also fixed color options if you are interested in a more minimalist aesthetics. The Earth-Y color palette tends to tilt a little more about off-road aesthetics in my book, but they also work great in a tempo line. It is the kind of jersey that makes it look like it knows what you doEven if they are out there, burritos are hunting.
