Running through the mountains is no joke! Regardless of whether you are on your bike or on your feet, it is absolutely necessary that you have sharp visibility and eye protection while navigating the paths. My striking new glasses came well packaged and protected directly from Scott. They came for additional protection with a protective Clamshell -Nylon zip and a cord string bag. Conveniently, the cord bag also serves as a cleaning fabric.
The glasses have a rigid plastic frame with rubber -nose pieces and rubber stems. None of the parts can be adjusted, so it is important to check the specifications before ordering. Scott describes the fit as small to medium, which in my opinion is exactly. I have a fairly average female head, and the glasses find exactly (in a good way) and stayed well in place.
Super light
The Scott Torica weighs a little more than 1 ounce (34 grams). The straight stems and rubberized nasal pieces let the glasses rest gently on my nose without moving. When I went through the paths, I was relieved that they didn’t jump at all. The rubberized stems grip my head well and they are thin enough to be hardly noticeable. They fit comfortably under my hat and left enough space for my over-the-ear headphones.

The simple construction of this shaped frame avoids unnecessary weight and complexity. The only metal parts are the tiny screws that attach the stems to the frame. They are brilliantly designed and feel weightless in my face. An outstanding feature are the toric -shaped lenses. They bubble away from my long eyelashes and give my eyes room to breathe. Even in full sun, I didn’t feel any warmth behind the lenses, and the tight -fitting frame offered excellent windbreak.
Vision reinforced by Scott Torica sunglasses
Scott’s amplifier lenses improve contrast and clarity and improve your vision regardless of the terrain. These lenses are not polarized, they are ideal for identifying details on the way. I was able to read my current clock easily, which is sometimes distorted by polarized lenses. The mirrored finish effectively reflects the bright sunlight and helps me to concentrate clearly on the forthcoming path.
The lenses are interchangeable and interchangeable. My couple came with the S3 lens, which was rated for light sunlight and offers 100% UVA/UVB protection. Scott also offers lenses for cloudy conditions (S2) and factual lighting environments (S1). This makes Torica’s sunglasses versatile and reliable for a variety of hiking and weather conditions. The curved lenses offer a broad field of vision and protect my eyes from trail waste and give me an excellent peripheral view, something that I really appreciate for the safety.
