As I mentioned in a previous review, I dealt with cycling. With longer journeys and more time on the street, I needed equipment that could master unpredictable weather. When I lived in Muskegon, Michigan, I already knew that spring conditions change quickly. I left the house in the sunshine to hit the rain halfway through a 20-mile ride. Thinking design that actually works
I immediately noticed the thought that went into the design. Gorewear clearly heard feedback and improved little things that make a big difference. For example, I had a criticism with the sleeves of one of her older running jackets. They felt too tight and I couldn’t pull them over my running clock. This solves this. The sleeves can be adjusted with a rubber band and a Velcro fastener. I can tighten it to block the wind or push it over my watch without a fight.
The hood also has functions I like. It is spacious enough to fit over a bicycle helmet. This allows you to reduce the volume of the bonnet if you do not wear a helmet. Thanks to silicone deductions and a reinforced clamp, it remains in wind or in motion. I carried it on a 15-mile run in the rain, and it remained tight all the time without jumping around or turning around.
Real performance in wind and rain
This jacket uses the Gore-Tex EPE membrane technology, which delivers a real water seal without mass. Gore-Tex promises to keep it dry, and in my experience it does justice to this promise. In this rainy run, the water rolled off immediately. I stayed dry all the time. The same applies to my trips. Wind does not cut it through and the fabric does not soak or strike like cheaper jackets.
Even if I wear it with a high outcome with a high outcome during the activities, breathability holds quite well. I will not say that it is perfect if you put it on in the rain and the temperatures rise, you can heat up. That is one thing that I would improve: I would add armpit openings to drop excess warmth. But even without them it doesn’t feel moist, and I’m never bathing in sweat in the temperatures in which I wore it.
Fit, functions and small details
The fit tends to a normal cut, not too slim and not too baggy. It runs far above a base or a middle class without restricting the movement. Prefabricated elbows and shoulders help a lot with mobility, especially when I drive into the drop. The back of the droptail adds the cover and the road spray and keeps my back covered.
The jacket has two zippers that are deep and safe. The zippers themselves glide gently and do not snap. The full front zipper is a two-way path, which gives you more options for venting or adapting your adjustment when driving. The soft lining on the collar feels good against the skin and the reinforced neck holds its shape well.
Reflecting hits on the elbow and in the lower back offer a little visibility in poor lighting conditions, which I appreciate in the early morning or late departure. The whole thing weighs a little more than 10 ounces and grabs small in its own traffic jam bag.

At $ 260, the Gorewear Lupra 2.0 Gore-Tex jacket is not cheap, but I think it is worth the investment if you are serious to stay dry and conveniently in unpredictable weather. This jacket has become one of my most frequently used equipment. It is easy, waterproof, windproof and versatile enough to wear it on a bike tour, on a run or on a route meeting.
