After the chocolate tour we drove to Akaka Falls State Park. There is a complicated way to pay for parking and almost no mobile service up there. So download the app in advance. You can do this by clicking here. As soon as you pay for parking, you can enter the park. After the chocolate tour, we were starving and spent a lot of time to find out that we finally left. We saw the waterfalls from the parking lot from the parking lot.

From here we drove back to Hilo and came from Rainbow Falls, which is very easily accessible and does not require hiking at all. This is one of the best waterfalls on Big Island because of its accessibility! Plan only about 20 minutes here because it accesses and can be seen very easily.

Be sure to make reservations for lunch in advance for Moon & Turtle – we did not do this and could not get in. At the end we picked up food at a petrol station and just ate on the water when we snorkel in the Richardson Ocean Park. This is a great place to snorkel in Hilo. It has a good parking lot, toilets and a beach where you can set up. We spent about half a day here to explore the water.
