Where are Burgdorf Hot Springs?
Burgdorf is about 30 miles north of McCall, Idaho. It is a historical Hot Springs Resort that was opened for the first time in the 1870s after the miners discovered geothermal water in the area. It still has this rustic feeling of the old school logs, outbuildings and no cell service. It is the type of place where things slow down in a good way.

What to expect if you soak
The hot pools of Burgdorf are fed by natural geothermal mief and remain about 100 ° F all year round. There are two large pools, a smaller flat and two covered tubs that are much hotter – soak faster if they want a more intensive temperature.
While the pool area can contain up to 200 people, this does not mean that it is a free one for everyone. Burgdorf now limits the number of visitors and requires Reservations for two -hour attitude sessions. Walk-ins are no longer accepted, which contributes to keeping the atmosphere relaxed and not overcrowded.

The cabins have neither electricity nor flowing water, but they have wood furnaces, simple furniture and a lot of character. They are on foot on the pools, outbuildings and the main office.

Alternative camping options
If you don’t want to book a cabin, the Forest Service Jeanette Campground is located right next door and a few minutes on foot. The websites are first, first and only $ 10 per night. However, you do not get access to Burgdorf around the clock as if you were staying in the cabins. If you are camping on the Jeanette Campground or another of the nearby places, you still have to book your SOAK time window during regular public working hours.

Visit to summer
In summer, the journey via Warren Wagon Road is simple and scenic. It is a great time to combine a soaking with hiking or camping.

- Fishing in nearby streams
- Wildlife spots (I saw deer directly in front of the cabins at dusk)
Temperatures can also fall in July and August. So bring layers with you when you stay overnight.
Visit to the winter: Snowmobile from Brundage
Winter near Burgdorf is a completely different experience. The road is completely overwhelmed, so you have to snail snowmobile – and the adventure really begins there.

Our guides, Jake and Robbie, led us through Backcountry Trails, via ridge and along a snow -covered road until we reached the sources. Do you ride through the forest with fresh powder, then in a hot pool while snow fell? This is a hard combination.
Brundage Snowmobile Adventures
If you spend the night overnight in winter, bring a warm sleeping bag (to 15 ° F or lower), additional meals and many warm basics. The cabins stay warm with wooden furnaces, but the cold can creep in quickly as soon as the fire dies down.
Food & drink
You have to bring all of your own food and drinks to Burgdorf – especially if you stay overnight or come in with snowmobile. There is no restaurant or shop on site.
