Looking for the best water sports in Cornwall? Take a look at these amazing activities this summer, from coastiers to paddleboarding!

What is one of the things for which Cornwall is the most famous? Surfing.

If you are a bit of a beach and love to hit the waves, Cornwall is one of the best places in the UK to surf. I have lost the count of how often I have surfed in Cornwall, and every time I think “when I pulled here, I could surf every day …” It is still a pipedream of me to this day!

However, it’s not just about surfing, there are so many other water sports in Cornwall that are just waiting to be discovered.

From kayaking on the Helford River to the Epic Coastiere in the mouse hole, there is water activity for all age groups and skills.

They are views like this, which is why I come back to Cornwall again and again

In this blog post I will tell you everything about my favorites so that you can plan your next Cornwall adventure.

I will also tell you about a few cute cornwall cottages nearby so that you have to stay somewhere. All of these cottages are absolutely dreamy. Just wait until you see some of the views that have these places!

I can’t tell you how much I love Cornwall. As I said, one day I want to move here. In the meantime, I just have to tick up adventures like this until I do it.

Water sports in Cornwall

Paddleboarding in Falmouth

Paddleboarding is such a relaxing activity

Let’s start with paddle boarding. Is there a better way to start the day than a relaxing paddleboard session on perfectly calm water? If so, I don’t want to know anything about it.

In Falmouth you can take part in the Falmouth Surf School for a morning paddleboard along the Kornische coast. There are so many hidden bays and swimming caves that are just waiting to become discovered-to be lucky, their leaders, Nay and Matt, all local spots. In Maenporth there is even a shipwreck that you can see.

One of the funny things about paddle boarding is that there is almost just one speed – slow and constant. This makes it such a calm way of exploring Cornwall.

Where remains: Fantasea, Maenporth

Kayaking on the Helford River

This is another water activity in Cornwall, which should definitely be on your travel route. I think it’s perfect for families because they can paddle with relatively young children (think of five years).

What I love about kayaking on the Helford River is to immerse yourself in nature. It is so different to be on the coast, but it’s still so beautiful. The Helford River is known for its calm waters, its lush vegetation and its abundant wildlife and is therefore a popular destination for kayakers of all skills.

There are two options for kayaking here. You can either set kayaks and explore yourself or do a guided tour. It all depends on the type of afternoon you are looking for.

If you have never done kayaking before, I would really recommend doing a tour. Then you have a guide that shows you how to paddle and you can bring you to the best.

Where remains: Sanderling House, Helford River

Coast in the mouse hole

Has anyone said adventure?

If you love an adventure, CoAsteering must be on your radar. Crawl over rocks, throw yourself from cliffs into the dark depths – that sounds like my ideal activity!

It actually sounds much more scary than it is. For me, the most difficult on the coast in Great Britain is the cold water, but it is not bad with a thick wetsuit and a life jacket. However, it means that they brag about all their friends.

In Cornwall, global boarders are one of the best companies with which you celebrate with the coast. These boys offer two hours in the mouse hole in the port of Anhies, a picturesque small place is to be visited.

Equipped with warm neoprene suits, buoyancy aids, diving masks and helmets, your experienced coastal guide will take you to an adventure to remember.

Where are you: ten stages, mouse hole, mouse hole

Sea beard swimming at Bude or Perranporth

This is the swimming pool in Perranporth. The one at Bude is much bigger!

This is one of these water sports that everyone can do! In places like Bude and Perranporth they have shown swimming pools by the sea. They are very similar to those who are on the coast of Australia, only without the 40-degree heat.

The swimming pools are brilliant on a hot summer day. They are obviously a lot safe than swimming in the sea when the waves are rough, especially for the little ones. And the pools have something so old. It always lets me think of the British summer holidays of the 1950s by the sea (not that I was in one of them myself …)

One of the best things swimming in places such as Bude and Perranporth is that you have the breathtaking landscape of the Cornish Coast in all of them. What is not to be loved!

Where stay: will be mussels, will be

Water ski on Padstow

The water ski in Padstow offers an exciting adventure in the middle of Cornwall’s breathtaking coastal landscape. Imagine that you slide over the shimmering water of the camel mouth, framed by lush green and picturesque villages. For me it is really one of the best water sports in Cornwall.

If you are looking for a local company, I would recommend the Camel Ski School. These boys specialize in water skiing, wakeboarding and paddleboarding.

After learning the skills on land, it is time to go into the water where you can find out where your limit is. That means planting a face a few times before it finally gets up and has the water skiing. Don’t worry, you will get it at some point – it is actually an intuitive activity, with which sometimes the less you think about it. However, you will get up and as soon as you have accelerated a little, it is an adventure activity like no other. I really can’t recommend it enough.

Where remains: Möwe Hoch, Padstow

Boat trips in St. Mawes

This is the beautiful harbor in St. Mawes

Another really funny family -friendly activity is a picturesque boat trip in St. Mawes. In this case, they expose from the picturesque port, where colorful fishing boats gently chill against a background of historical architecture.

Once in the open water, drive along the famous Cornish Coastline, which collects crumbling castles on Rocky Cliffs. You will also see a lot of wild animals. If you are lucky, you may see dolphins, and in summer there have even been discovered over the years.

Alternatively, another kind of tour that you can do here is on a fishing trip. Then you can sailing around St. Mawes when fishing. The best thing about these tours is that you can cook what you catch afterwards!

Where remains: Tregwylan, St. Mawes

Surf in Newquay

Surfing on the Fistral Beach is such a popular place

No vacation to Newquay would be completely without surfing. It does not matter whether you are welcome a professional of waves or someone who has never been to a board.

Visit the wonderfully sandy Fistral Beach to surf the best in Newquay and some really great atmosphere. Although it is a really wide beach, it can be overcrowded a little in summer. Come early to find good sunbathing.

In Newquay you will find a number of surf schools and the latest equipment in the many surf shops in the Newquay High Street.

You can pick up a surfing lesson for around £ 40 per person. This applies to a two and a half hour lesson with a board of directors, a wetsuit and tuition fees (obviously). I can’t tell you how much fun it surfs at the Fistral Beach.

Where remains: Cornwall Cottages
